Each October, communities nationwide celebrate Lights On Afterschool to bring attention to afterschool programs and their role in lives of children, families, and communities.
The Afterschool Network of WNY, a regional network affiliated with the New York State Afterschool Network (NYSAN), will be hosting the Buffalo-area Lights On Afterschool event. It will be one of more than 7,500 celebrations around the nation. The event will feature activities created by students participating in afterschool programs and information about programs in our community. It will be held at the Buffalo Central Library, 1 Lafayette Square, from 5-7pm.
Via Evaluation works with 11 local afterschool providers, multiple programs that contribute staff and programming to afterschool programs, and a variety of afterschool programs throughout New York State. We have worked with these types of programs to build capacity and evaluate programming and outcomes for over 10 years.
