The Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) has issued a Notice of Funds Availability (NOFA) for one of its three AmeriCorps programs, AmeriCorps State and National. This grant program provides nonprofits and other eligible applicants with funds to implement 3-year projects that use evidence-based or evidence-informed interventions to address community needs, utilizing AmeriCorps members in direct service roles.
As CNCS places great importance on the utilization of evidence-based interventions, proposals must include discussions of the research supporting the intervention, a logic model, and evaluation components.
Applicants proposing to conduct their projects within a single state must apply through their State Commission, each of which has their own application and deadline. Applicants proposing multiple-state projects can apply directly to CNCS by January 20.
Via Evaluation has created logic models and evaluation and plans for multiple AmeriCorps grantees, and recently evaluated outcomes of two AmeriCorps-funded programs. Via Evaluation’s extensive experience with program evaluation, evidence-based interventions (and how to best select and implement them), conducting needs assessments, and creating logic models can assist your organization in the development of a successful grant application. Alternately, Via Evaluation’s successful grant writing staff is happy to work with you to prepare the grant application from start to finish.
