NYSED has announced $22 million in available funding to increase the availability of high quality prekindergarten placements for high need children and schools within New York State.
Applications to this grant program, Prekindergarten for Three-Year Old Students in High-Need School Districts, are due on August 17. A mandatory Notice of Intent is due on July 20. High-need school districts can use these funds to create new full-day prekindergarten placements, convert existing half-day placements to full-day, or create new half-day placements for three-year old students. Each eligible school district has a per-pupil funding rate that determines funding levels.
