The NYS Education Department (NYSED) has two grant opportunities available to meet school districts’ needs for technology and pre-K.
The Learning Technology Grant (LTG), due on 9/18/15, is a 3-year grant intended to help public school districts and BOCES improve academic performance by integrating instructional technology into classrooms and libraries. School districts can apply for up to $50,000 annually for each participating school, to purchase technology and provide professional development.
The Expanded Pre-Kindergarten for Three- and Four-Year Old Students in High-Need School Districts (Expanded Pre-K) grant will provide funding to eligible public school districts (based on Needs Resource Index or other calculations – see RFP) to establish or expand pre-K programs. Funding varies and is based on each district’s Universal Pre-K allocation from the state. The project period is one year, but grantees have the option to renew funding annually per the achievement of performance targets. Applicants are required to submit a Notice of Intent by 7/20/15. Full proposals are due on 8/11/15.
Both of these grant programs include required evaluation components, which must be described in the proposals.
