Jessica Weitzel attended the annual Do Good Data conference in Chicago April 30th-May 1st. Ms. Weitzel is a member of Data Analysts for Social Good, the host organization.
Keynote speakers and breakout sessions focused on encouraging organizations to use data to inform and change programs to get to outcomes, strategies for collecting and using data to measure collective impact, using logic models in low-resource environments, effectively measuring performance, harnessing big data to impact social issues, and similar topics. All things we love here at Via Evaluation. With the NFL draft in town, conversation at the conference and around town also addressed the extensive use of data in draft selections and fantasy football leagues.
People from around the world came to the conference, and we were glad to see that Buffalo was well-represented. Staff from Via Evaluation, clients United Way of Buffalo and Erie County and The Service Collaborative of Western New York were in attendance, as well as representatives from University at Buffalo and the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus.
Jessica (@usefuleval) tweeted throughout the conference. Check out the conference feed and join the conversation, using #DoGoodData2015.
