The Cullen Foundation has been a presence in Western New York since 2004, but recently gained millions of dollars in assets through the sale of Mr. Cullen’s company. The foundation hired an Executive Director (Brigid Doherty, formerly of the Cummings Foundation and Western New York Women’s Fund) last fall, and is launching its first formal application process.
Beginning April 1st, the foundation will accept Letters of Intent to provide up to $100,000 a year for organizations or programs in Erie County, NY that fit within the Cullen Foundation’s areas of focus:
grades 5-12 education (including out-of-school time programs) or
performing arts.
For this first round of funding, the foundation will only accept applications from 501(c)(3) organizations with audited financials. The deadline for submitting a Letter of Intent is May 1st, 2015.
