New York State Education Department (NYSED) has announced that the Request for Proposals (RFP) for Round 6 of 21st Century Community Learning Centers will not be released until this fall. NYSED expects to release the RFP October 1, 2012 to fund program operations July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2018. Awards will utilize expired funding from Rounds 4, 5, and 5b.
The Round 6 RFP will align with the recently approved No Child Left Behind waiver for New York State. The RFP will encourage coordination between 21st CCLC activities and the regular school day, NYS Learning Standards, Social and Emotional Development and Learning Guidelines, school and district goals, and college and career readiness Regents priorities. See the NYSED 21st CCLC website for further information about 21st CCLC in NY State.
Ciurczak and Company, Inc. has evaluated 35 unique 21st CCLC grants since the first round of funding in 2003.
